The Date Selection system is derived from algorithms that compare classical astronomy with personal BaZi.
I. Structure of 3 Date Selection Layers
The system analyzes auspicious and inauspicious factors based on 3 independent layers of data:
1. Shen Sha Level (Basic)
Analyze the cycles of the 12 Auspicious/Inauspicious Day Stars, the Twelve Day Officers, and the system of auspicious and inauspicious stars according to the Jade Box Classic (Day Slayer, Death Day, Heavenly Horse, Heavenly Joy...).
2. Astronomical Level (Extended)
Calculate the presence of the 28 Lunar Mansions (28 constellations) on the day, evaluating favorable/unfavorable alignments for each specific event type.
3. BaZi Level (Personalized)
(Applies when Birth Year is provided). Establish the subject's Na Yin Five Element, Heavenly Stem, and Earthly Branch to evaluate generation, restriction, Six Clashes, Three Punishments, Six Breakings, Triple Harmony, and Six Harmonies against the current day.
II. Mechanism of Quantifying Auspiciousness
Starting state is Neutral (0 points). The algorithm builds up supportive energy and subtracts conflicting energy.
Vitality Group (Supportive)
- Auspicious Day; the Twelve Day Officers are favorable.
- Gathering of Auspicious Stars (Tian Xi, Tian Ma...)
- The day's element generates or harmonizes with the natal element.
- The day's Earthly Branch forms Six Harmonies or Triple Harmony with the birth-year Earthly Branch.
Conflict Group (Destructive)
- Falls on Day Slayer, Death Day, Yang Gong, or Yue Ji taboo days.
- Six Clashes, Three Punishments, Six Destructions with the subject's birth year.
- The day's element controls the Natal Element.
- Daily Heavenly Stem clashes with the birth year's Heavenly Stem.
- Excellent: Auspicious energy is in command, overpowering negative stars. Favorable to execute major events.
- Good: Auspicious energy is abundant, favorable factors prevail. Fully suitable to proceed.
- Moderate: Yin and Yang are balanced, auspicious and inauspicious factors are mixed. Suitable for minor tasks.
- Should Not: Conflict/destructive energy dominates. Absolutely avoid proceeding with the event.
* When a day reaches Good or Very Good, the "factors to consider" shown below are minor drawbacks already included in the total score. The conclusion already reflects both favorable and unfavorable factors, so there is no contradiction.
III. Method of Selecting Auspicious Hours
Auspicious hours are filtered through 2 strict steps:
- Step 1 (Avoid Inauspicious Influences): Exclude auspicious hours that clash with the day's Day Slayer or Death Day markers.
- Step 2 (Protect the Natal Element): (Applies when Birth Year is provided). Exclude hours that fall into Six Clashes or Six Harms with the Earthly Branch of the subject's birth year.
